In this tale of sex, violence, race and rock and roll in Chicago of the s and 60s, the film follows the exciting but turbulent lives of some of America's greatest musical legends.

I myself don't care about their personal lives. The character who takes off the doors of his '58 Caddy it was probably in the storythen sasses the police is way over the top.

Action / Biography / Drama / Music

Probably the best thing about the film is the music. I just love the music. Fascinated by the sound of the music — and eager to cash in on the record burgeoning record business — Chess arranges a recording session for Waters.

If you ever wanted a good example of irony, this is it. Second, the cars never seem to be from the decade from which they're supposed to be. The very fact that they failed to use the amazing original recordings of these artist most likely to save on production costs shows that the filmmaker had ultimately no real interest in their music or history, and just wanted to make some money and keep it all for themselves again.

As rock-and-roll grows more popular, the Chess artists find themselves revered by a new generation of musicians, but they have also each earned and lost a small fortune on booze, women and the high life, and their addictions begin to take their toll.


If the maker of the movie didn't have to pile a lot of stars on this, it would make life easier to watch and enjoy this biography movie. Even as tragedy befalls, their music and their spirit remain strong: However it just made it complicated for me to go on further and I was disappointed really.

I turned it off when Leonard Chess is dealing with some woman who appears to be having a meltdown, apparently over nothing. It made the movie become more confusing for me to know what really is happening with the legendary stars who have signed up to this Chess Records company.
